Pilates for Every Body
In Their Words…
What CLASS SHOULD YOU BOOK?
All our classes are beginner-friendly, so you can jump into any session that fits your schedule. If you're new to Pilates or just getting back into movement, we recommend starting with a STRENGTH class. It's a great way to build your foundation and get comfortable with the reformer.
If you're feeling ready to elevate your heart rate and add some cardio, try a SWEAT class. It's a fun, high-energy session that blends Pilates with a cardio boost.
Still unsure? You can always try STRETCH! It’s the best of both worlds, a good solid workout and stretch session in one, a great way to ease into things. And if you’re ever stuck, just chat to one of our instructors. We’re here to help!
What to bring to your first class?
Just bring yourself and get ready for a good time - we’ve got the rest covered!
Here’s what we recommend to help you feel comfy and confident:
🧦 Grip socks
These are a must for safety (and hygiene). Don’t have a pair? No stress, you can grab some at the studio.
💧 Water bottle
You’ll definitely want to stay hydrated.
👚 Comfy, fitted activewear
Wear something you can move in, and that lets your instructor see your form so we can guide you properly.
⏰ Arrive 10–15 minutes early
We’ll show you around, walk you through the reformer and answer any last-minute questions before you jump in.
We’re so excited to welcome you, whether it’s your first Pilates class ever or just your first time with us. You’ve got this 🤍
how long is my pass valid for once I’ve started?
Both our First Timer Pass start from your first class. We recommend booking your multiple sessions in different classes, with different instructors, to see what you like and get the most out of it!
Can I use my pass at multiple studios?
The First Timer Pass is valid for one location only.
I’m concerned I can’t do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)... I haven’t worked out in ages
So glad you're getting back at it! But don't worry, we try to make our HIIT sequences as easy to follow as possible. We have them displayed on screen at the front of class while our certified Instructors move around the room offering options to ensure you get the most you can out of each exercise! Our studio is a open and inclusive space, so you can work at your pace and progress when you feel confident and comfortable.
I’ve never done reformer pilates before, is that ok?
Definitely! We layer each exercise offering advancements and modifications to suit all fitness levels. We welcome beginners to all of our classes! Make sure to tell your Instructor it's your first time, so they can introduce to the reformer and help you with any needed modifications throughout class.
Can I do a class if I’m pregnant?
You're welcome to attend any of our classes. Our classes can be modified for those who are pregnant, as long as you’ve been cleared to exercise by your GP. Please update your trainer on how you’re feeling and how many weeks you are before each and every class.
We do recommend if it is your first time, you might find our Strength or Stretch classes as great options to start. If you have any more questions, feel free to email us at hello@hiitpilatesstudio.com and we would be more than happy to answer any queries you may have.
What happens if I have an injury?
As long as you've been cleared to train in a group fitness environment by your GP or physio, then we'll happily modify exercises for you in our classes. It's best to arrive 10 minutes early to ensure you have time to chat with your instructor about your injury, and they'll make sure to give you the appropriate modifications throughout your workout.
What Happens After the First Timer Pass?
IS IT CLOSE TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT? IS THERE PARKING?
Yes! It’s super easy to get to. HIIT Pilates Surry Hills is just a 5-minute walk from St Leonards Train Station. If you’re driving, there’s street parking around the studio. It can get busy at peak times, so we recommend allowing a little extra time if you’re coming by car.
Loved your intro classes? You’ll have the option to roll into one of our ongoing memberships or packs. No pressure, no lock-ins — just options when you’re ready and if you think it’s for you.
YOu have a few questions? AND Prefer to chat to someone about it?
2hr FREE PARKING available nearby at Hume Street Carpark.
Please note our 4-hour cancellation window. No-shows and late cancellations will incur a $15 fee for all Obsessed pass holders. Regular, Addict, First Timer and Class Pack holders will lose their class credit.

Alice Watt-Smith

Alice's fitness journey started over 12 years ago where she utilised strength training at the gym to help recover from an injury.
Since then she has tried many different kinds of fitness including CrossFit, Pole Fitness and Powerlifting (her favourite - second only to reformer at HIIT Pilates).
Her training in reformer began about 4 years ago. Looking for something to couple with her powerlifting, she was recommended HIIT Pilates by a friend and never looked back.
Falling in love with the atmosphere and the trainers she has been a regular at classes across all 3 studios and finally decided to see what it was like being on the other side of the reformer for once, she enrolled in the HIIT Pilates Academy in 2023.
Alice is excited to help you realise your potential through reformer pilates and would love to help you see yourself growing stronger with each class!

Owner and Founder of HIIT Pilates, Carla promises you’ll never do a boring workout again. Every class is different - she’s always tweaking a rep count, move combo, or tempo variation... and pulses, nothing beats low-range pulses.
In addition to her certifications in Pilates mat and reformer, Carla is a qualified Personal Trainer, Barre and Boxilates instructor. While her classes are strong, they are focussed on functional movement patterns to help clients move well in their daily lives. After years of hearing from clients, “I love reformer, but I’m missing cardio”, and equally, “I hurt myself at the gym, I’ve been told to try Pilates” she created HIIT Pilates mixing the best of high intensity interval training with the control and alignment of reformer Pilates.
Carla understands everyone leads busy lives but that if we love what we’re doing and nurture our body, we can achieve great things. She believes that Pilates focus on posture, core stability and strength makes it an important practice for people of all ages and backgrounds.

A self professed HIIT Pilates addict, Lauren began attending classes at HIIT after the first COVID lockdown, when she’d grown tired of home workouts and needed inspiration to get moving again. After her Intro Pass she was hooked, and in time it was a natural progression for her to study Pilates Instruction under the tutelage of HIIT’s very own Carla Sconce.
Lauren says, “It’s amazing that HIIT pilates gives me the best of body weight work and also heavy resistance & weights. I love the fact that we as a studio embrace everyone from all fitness levels, and that’s what I strive for in my classes: to make the class achievable for those starting out as well as challenging for those pushing their strength and balance. I look forward to seeing you in class!”
